Bandeja, vibora, globo — what your playing partners are actually calling for.

Bandeja
"Tray" in Spanish. The signature padel overhead: instead of smashing, you slice the ball flat and deep, like carrying a tray — it keeps you in position at the net instead of gambling on one big hit. The shot you'll use most.
Vibora
"Viper." A more aggressive cousin of the bandeja — topspin-slice overhead hit with sidespin so the ball kicks off the glass at a nasty angle.
Globo
The lob. Padel's reset button: when you're pinned at the back, a high deep globo pushes opponents off the net and buys you time to advance.
Chiquita
A soft, slow shot played at your opponents' feet at the net, forcing them to volley upward so you can take the net yourself.
Bajada de pared
"Coming down the wall." Letting a deep ball drop off your own back glass, then hitting it as it falls — the classic glass defence turned into attack.
Salida de paredes
Playing the ball off the side or back glass after the bounce. Beginners back away from the glass; experienced players step back and let it come to them.
Remate
The smash. Flat and hard, aimed to bounce the ball out of the court or back over the net to your own side.
Por tres (x3) / Por cuatro (x4)
A smash that exits the court over the side wall (x3, 3-metre wall) or the back glass (x4, 4-metre wall). The highlight-reel points.
Contrapared
Hitting the ball into your OWN back glass so it rebounds over the net — a legal, desperate, wonderful defensive play.
Dormilona
"Sleepy one." A smash with so much backspin the ball dies at the net and barely bounces. Rare, and everyone applauds anyway.
Golden point
At deuce, a single deciding point instead of advantage scoring. The receiving pair chooses which side receives serve.
Americano / Mexicano
Social tournament formats where you rotate partners every round and rack up individual points — the standard club social night formats.

Now hear them used in the wild: find a club and book a court.
